The Wöltingerode monastery estate is well-known and preferred as a tourist destination and as a conference venue. The almost one-kilometer-long monastery wall, old trees, the lovingly tended green areas and flowerbeds as well as the well-preserved buildings give the feeling of what monastery life must have been like in past centuries. The tower looks very massive but also well maintained. The ascent was worth it, we had a good view of the wide country.

Four times a day, all eyes and cameras are focused on the gable of the "Kämmereigebäude" on the east side of the market square. Three little doors open and a circus of figures tells the story of mining in Rammelsberg, from the legendary discovery by the knight Ramm to modern times, accompanied by the carillon intoning mining melodies. The carillon and figure circulation were donated by Preussag in 1968 on the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of Rammelsberg mining. In addition, the morning song will sound at 8:30 a.m. and the evening song at 6:30 p.m. (without figure rotation).
