At Stachelberg, between Hennef and Eitdorf, the Sieg River meanders in sweeping loops through lush floodplains. A well-maintained path leads directly along the Sieg, sometimes close to the bank, sometimes high on the steep bank clinging to the rocks. Everywhere you have wonderful views of the tranquil landscape, allowing you to breathe deeply and let your mind wander.

In the circular village of Lückert there are still some lovingly restored half-timbered houses that radiate pure coziness.

It must be wonderful to relax here on this bench amidst the blossoming orchard at Lückert's. Even in the darker months, you can imagine how bustling and vibrant it will soon be again 😊

The Sieg Orchard Trail offers a pleasant little hike in the Sieg region near Hennef. You'll walk along the ridges, often through open fields, and enjoy fantastic panoramic views of the Bergisches Land region, the Rhine Valley, and the Siebengebirge hills. Heritage fruit varieties line the trail, and there are often information panels about fruit cultivation in the region. This hike is sure to be even more charming during the blossom season or when the fruit is ripening in late summer.

On the Sieg Orchard Trail, you'll eventually walk above the village of Lückert through extensive meadows. From here, you can see four hilltops of the Siebengebirge hills, about 12 km away. Löwenburg, Nonnenstromberg, the Großer Ölberg, and Petersberg rise on the horizon.

The city wall, some parts of which are up to 800 years old, has a length of 1,600 meters and a total visible masonry area of around 13,700 square meters, a volume that corresponds to half the building volume of Cologne Cathedral.
