The Creuzburg is an impressive historic castle complex with elements dating from the High Middle Ages to the Baroque period. I find it particularly fascinating as a place where one can still trace the legacy of Saint Elizabeth of Thuringia after so many centuries. A visit is definitely worth it.

The castle of the Barons von Rotenhan zu Neuenhof is a beautiful sight. While the private nature of the castle itself must be respected, the formerly baronial castle park is now open to the public.

The Brandenburg Castle ruins tower impressively above the Werra Valley. We saw them several times from the Werra Castle Trail and eventually visited them. The view from up here is magnificent!

From the cycle path you have a nice view of Normannstein Castle. If you have a little time, you should plan a detour to the castle. From up there you can see the beautiful Werra Valley.
