The Silz Wind and Steam Mill, located between the districts of Silz and Nossentin, was built in 1872. It was constructed from local bricks, presumably from the nearby Nossentin brickworks, and is now one of the region's most important architectural monuments. The mill is a special example of the combination of wind and steam power: it not only served to mill grain but also housed a steam bakery, making it a progressive facility for its time. Since 1990, the building has been privately owned and has been carefully restored under listed building regulations. The mill is officially listed as a historical monument by the municipality of Silz and represents an impressive example of regional architecture and technological history of the 19th century. Due to its location in the cultural landscape of the Mecklenburg Lake District, it is not only a historical highlight but also a popular destination for cycling and hiking tours in the surrounding area.

A bike ride to the Malchow town windmill is worthwhile in every respect: Built around 1843, this gallery-style windmill has been lovingly restored and impresses with its large, approximately 24-meter-long wind turbine. Visitors can enjoy exhibitions on mill technology, regional history, and the mill's own restoration work on several floors. The mill is not only a technical monument but also a cultural meeting place—especially during the annual Mill Festival on Whit Monday.

This exceptionally designed house is a real eye-catcher, creatively combining art and architecture. The colorfully painted roof, with its surreal motifs and vibrant colors, immediately draws attention. The facade also impresses with large-scale murals, animal motifs, and maritime decorations. Everything appears thoughtfully staged – from the bright red deck chairs to the geometric shapes on the side wall. An idea that shows: Living can also be art.

The route leads through damp terrain where alders, willows, and reeds dominate the landscape. Especially in spring and summer, the surrounding area reveals itself at its most impressive – a paradise for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone who wants to enjoy a peaceful break amidst pristine nature.
