The Heilige Meer is the oldest natural lake in Westphalia. It is located in a nature reserve, and there are great hiking trails around it and in the surrounding area.
This small pond has a reason for its name. In 1913, a landslide occurred at this location, and the resulting hole filled with water. The sinkhole lake is located in a stunning landscape.
The old railway line is a wonderful connection between Spelle and Beesten. If you are on a tour between these places, then this route is an absolute MUST! It's like driving through a green tunnel.
At the small lake with the pretty tree island in the middle you can relax a bit. Just enjoy the view of the water and nature - or treat yourself to a refreshment in the small café. ;)
