Currently (07/2025) the ferry is out of service, an alternative ferry is in Bleckede.

The crossing with a bicycle now costs €3.50 in June 2024, but that's still reasonable. The ferry runs back and forth constantly during the day. 9 p.m. seems to be the last stop.

The river covers almost 1,100 kilometers from the source of the Elbe in the Giant Mountains to its mouth in the North Sea. Since the cycle path does not always follow the banks of the Elbe, the Elbe cycle path is approx. 1,270 kilometers long. Not only is this section beautiful 🤫 and it is also important to ask “upstream or downstream” 👍
