The paths are mostly “natural” and difficult to drive in places. The tour section is relatively strenuous, especially if it has rained beforehand and you sometimes sink quite deep into the mud. Lake Plauer in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is largely located in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district. The two northern bays near Alt Schwerin belong to the Mecklenburg Lake District.

The blue lifting bridge - the symbol of Plau. It is a technical monument and more than 100 years old. It is still in operation and can be raised 1.60 m when ships wish to pass.
