On Adenauer Marktplatz in the center of town, there is an ensemble of historic buildings, some of which are listed monuments. The market fountain was constructed from basalt columns. The house at Stein am Markt 8, built in 1630, has been protected by the Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict since 1992.

The chapel of St. Margareta and the village were first mentioned in 1307 as a Luxembourg fief. In 1576 the church was a branch of Tondorf. The valuable furnishings of the old church are thanks to the Counts of Blankenheim. It has been an independent parish church since 1804. The old church was a hall church with three axes and a mighty west tower and a small choir closed on three sides. This old church was demolished in 1923 and replaced by the new building that stands today. Only the Romanesque tower, originally built as a defensive tower, remained. Probably the most photographed object at the Nürburgring and in the Eifel. Definitely a highlight.

You can cycle all the way around Lake Freilingen. You will always find beautiful spots on the shore that are also perfect for swimming.

In 1583, Johann Zimmermann von Frohnhofen was the tenant of the mill in the "Drießbach", which belonged to the Dukes of Arenberg. In 1794, the tenant Johannes Helten paid nine malters of grain, a pig worth at least 150 pounds and a chicken as annual rent. The Duke of Arenberg's mill was still in operation until the end of the 19th century. The historic mill is located in the romantic Dreisbach valley and is a point of departure for many wonderful hiking routes.

An important and sublime place on a tour in the area, but there is no nice sign for a selfie. Unfortunately, there is an increased danger for cyclists on the roads in the area due to motorcyclists.
