For me, it was the destination of the first stage of the Eifel Ladder. I was picked up by the innkeeper at my guesthouse.

It's better to avoid it. It's narrow, horrible, with lots of roots and, depending on the time of day, a lot of pedestrians. For gravel bikers and mountain bikers, a gravel path runs parallel to the gravel pits a little further away from the Rhine. Unfortunately, the only paved alternative for road bikers is the B9. The hard shoulder on the Remagen side is accessible even over the narrow part of the bridge. The other direction, towards Bad Breisig, is not recommended; you'll have to temporarily use the right lane on the bridge.

Unfortunately, you have to cycle on a country road without a bike path. In heavy traffic, caution is advised when crossing the Abtei road.

The marked section is very scenic and offers repeated, magnificent views of the Rhine. What's not so nice is that the cycle path is in poor condition and very bumpy for long stretches.
