Wonderful cycle path through the forest

The lift bridge was built in 1916 to replace a wooden drawbridge. In 1945, the bridge was saved from being blown up.[1] In 1991/92, it was repaired and in 2020/21, a basic overhaul was carried out, including the installation of new drive technology.[2] A remote control was also implemented, taking into account the monument protection. Until this renovation, the lock keeper, who operates the lock at the "Hühnerleiter" a few hundred meters downstream on the Elde, had to ride his bike to the bridge in order to control the bridge directly from the wooden house. Boats pass under the 13-meter-long bridge, which is a listed building, when leaving Lake Plauer and heading for the Elde. The swing bridge is located directly at the city harbor in the old town and is opened every hour on the hour to allow ships on the Müritz-Elde waterway to pass into Lake Malchow. What is a nice spectacle for holidaymakers is often a test of patience for drivers. The bridge was previously made of wood and was operated manually, but today it is a modern steel structure.

Schloss Lebbin is the manor house of the former Gutshof Lebbin in today's municipality of Göhren-Lebbin, Mecklenburg-West Pomerania. The original building, erected in 1842, was badly damaged by a fire in 1912, most of the remains were demolished and replaced by a more representative new building in the neo-baroque style. Today it houses the "Schlosshotel Fleesensee".

The approximately 15-meter-long new building is a landmark of the city and opens every hour to allow passage for ships traveling on the Müritz-Elde waterway. A very nice cycle route. Cars are only allowed to drive here as residents and only with great consideration for cyclists. Very beautiful here.
