A path directly parallel to the Sauer. Unfortunately it is asphalted and only separated from the road by a guardrail.

https://www.jugendburg-neuerburg.de/ So after a visit to the inner courtyard you would immediately feel like spending time here. Great barbecue area and great seating on the castle grounds. Cool.

I like to recommend a hike from Vianden to Falkenstein Castle over the ridge. You can't get to the castle. But the way is awesome!

The ascent to the castle is quite steep, but with the appropriate support it is definitely worth it. The castle itself is also called youth castle and accordingly there are some "exhibits" in the inner courtyard (armour, stage, dungeon, etc.). But the view of Neuerburg from above is also very nice.
