A trip to Rammstein Castle in the Kyll Valley is worthwhile. The castle is a lovely place to stop for a bite to eat!

Anyone interested in castle ruins should take the relatively easy detour from the Kylltal cycle path.

람슈타인 성터는 약 182미터 높이의 다채로운 사암 바위 위에 있습니다. 원래 10세기에 요새화된 영주 저택으로 지어졌으며, 14세기에 트리어 선제후국의 봉신 영지로 확장되었습니다. 오늘날까지 주로 서쪽에 있는 약 25미터 높이의 주거용 탑과 여전히 높이 솟아 있는 성벽의 일부가 보존되어 있습니다. 이 성벽에는 좌석 공간, 벽난로, 나선형 계단의 잔해와 같이 여전히 알아볼 수 있는 건축 세부 사항이 남아 있습니다.

A nice vantage point. Unfortunately, the junction is not signposted. Status 7.2023. The few meters from the Roman path are definitely worth it!

A short climb and you are in the castle, but before that it is worth taking a short break in the restaurant

Föhren Castle dates back to the 14th century and was last rebuilt in the Baroque style in 1663. The castle complex includes the tithe barn that has been converted and restored into an event space, the actual main building, in whose large hall the registry office is located, and the outbuilding that has been converted into a holiday apartment.
