Beautiful ruins even nicer than the castle in Vianden

Castle ruins, mostly locked. If the gate is open, you can enter, but some areas are closed off.

I like to recommend a hike from Vianden to Falkenstein Castle over the ridge. You can't get to the castle. But the way is awesome!

Even if you only get to the gate. The path is incredibly great and recommendable.

From the dam wall at the pumped storage power plant you can enjoy a wonderful view of Vianden Castle.

The Brandenburg castle ruins are among the most imposing castles. It consists of a mighty upper and a sophisticated lower castle (the basement). The most important areas are easily passable. The highlight of the castle is the freely accessible keep and the deep cellar under the former chapel. And all this without admission 🤩 (Open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.)

Brandenbourg Castle (French: Château de Brandenbourg), now a ruin, is located on a promontory some 70 metres above the village of Brandenbourg in north-eastern Luxembourg. It has a history going back to the 9th and 10th centuries when there was a wooden fort on the site. The 13th century keep, now 11.9 metres high, used to have four floors, only three of which remain. Around 1687, the French destroyed the external walls of the castle which subsequently fell increasingly into ruin. It is now owned by the family du Fays - van Delft. The owner signed an emphyteutic lease (1997) with the State of Luxembourg permitting the state to take care of the castle (consolidation and archaeological excavation work).
