Fischerhude on the Wümme, known as an artists' village since the beginning of the 20th century, impresses with its historic buildings in romantic alleys. It is a place that invites you to linger. Gastronomic offerings support this with tasty treats. With around 3,400 inhabitants, Fischerhude is a relatively small place, but it is worth a stay just for the museum of the impressionist and co-founder of Worpswede, Otto Modersohn. But the Wümme that flows here, the local museum, the Liebfrauenkirche and the Mühlenberg with its windmill are also worth a visit. First mentioned in documents in 1124, Fischerhude, located on the Hamburg-Bremen long-distance cycle route, belongs to the town of Ottersberg.

Absolutely great area if, like me, you are just starting to cycle again and are no longer the youngest, but you should always listen carefully and pay attention to which direction the noise of agricultural machinery is coming from and head towards the edge of the road, they like to run here with theirs monster tractors
