A small update on the ferry. The old ferry is currently still running, but this will soon be replaced by a solar ferry. The price of the ferry with a bicycle has increased to 1.50 euros. Still reasonable, in my opinion.

For currently 1.5 euros per bike with a person you can get across. Luckily the old ferry is still running

The bridge is currently not passable: Information from the train to the Lindaunisbrücke: The bridge has been closed to passers-by since March 6, 2023. In the period that follows, we dismantle the folding part and set up the temporary bridge for pedestrians and cyclists. It is planned to complete this work in Dec. 2023. The visit from the port is worthwhile. Over the bridge and then on to the Borby viewing platform.

The port town of Eckernförde, which emerged from a fishing settlement, is worth a visit not least because of its pretty old town and the museum harbor. For example, you can learn a lot about the underwater world of the Baltic Sea in the Baltic Sea Info Center. Here you can even get close to the sea creatures in the feeling pool. The pedestrian zone also invites you to take a leisurely stroll.

There is so much to see and do. The fishermen in the harbor, the sea, the boats, the old town with the beautiful historic buildings ... Eckernförde is definitely worth a visit.
