The Neubürg table mountain is the second highest elevation in the region at 587 meters, after the Sophienberg (593 meters). It is located in the Mistelgau municipality. The Neubürg was formed in the Jurassic period. The top layer consists of limestone, followed by Ornatenton and iron sandstone. The Neubürg is called a table mountain because it has a flat table surface instead of a dome. Due to the erosion-related formation, the Neubürg is also called an island or witness mountain. It stands like an island in the further eroded environment and "witnesses" the rock layers that previously covered the entire area.

The Sugarloaf Mountain lies at an altitude of 515 meters. The beautiful view goes on three sides: into the Wiesenttal to the west to the Walberla and almost to Forchheim, to the east the view ends in the narrow and winding valley to Streitberg, opposite the imposing Hummerstein with the Leinleitertal running north with Greifenstein Castle in the background. The summit cross was erected in 1947 as a “sign of thanks and memorial of peace” by those returning from the war.

The Wallerwarte, a stone tower built in the 1930s, rises above Ebermannstadt. There is a great view of the Hetzleser Berg, the towns in the lower Wiesenttal and the Leinleitertal to Greifenstein Castle near Heiligenstadt.

There is a bench just below the tower. Ideal for snacks.

With its new (built in 2012), 12-meter-high observation tower, the Hohe Kreuz – the highest point of the "hollow mountain" (522 + 12 m) – is now on par with the Adlerstein in height. The observation tower Hohes Kreuz on the Hohlen Berg, it is located on the hiking route between Muggendorf and Engelhardsberg, the approx. 12 meter high tower offers a good all-round view.
