The Schottsbüll leading light (Skodsbøl Fyr) stands in the middle of a field and cannot be entered. However, the lighthouse is a beautiful sight - you can feast your eyes on it - during the hike along Gendarmstien. Tower height: 8.50 m Fire height: 11 m The lighthouse was built in 1896 south of Schottsbüll, on a field on the north side of the Flensburg Fjord. The steel tower was built on a 1.5 m thick concrete foundation and is identical to the lighthouses of Laagmai and Rinkenæs. The dome-shaped lantern roof was made of two millimeter thick copper sheet. Initially, a spirit lamp with a mantle served as the light source. In 1921, the spirit mantle burner was replaced by an acetone gas lamp. In 1976, the white lighthouse with red band and red lantern roof was electrified and given an incandescent lamp as a light source.
