I really enjoyed this section of my walk around Billund. There are some really unique and interesting exhibits.

Information boards along the route tell of old burial mounds, pagan farmers and a fascinating school history, as well as a plane crash in World War II. Highlights of the tour include the historic railway line, which is now a popular cycling and hiking trail, and an exciting mountain bike route built by dedicated locals. Other sights include a former village school and an old pagan farmhouse that can still be visited today. The route also includes windmills, Bronze Age burial mounds and the historic Milky Way - a journey between nature, history and activity!

If you stand at a certain spot at the memorial, you can see the outlines of the bomber.

Highlights along the route include Dyreskoven with animal silhouettes, the new observation tower at Hjortlund Sø with fascinating views of water birds and Hængekøjeskoven where you can relax in hammocks. Also visit “Dyrenes Verden” with exotic animals such as alpacas, kangaroos and even a tame coati.

Here you cross the bridge over Holme Å, which is about five meters wide and is an important watercourse in the region. The area is ideal for hiking or cycling as it is part of the Holme Å system and is connected to numerous junctions. Along the river, nature offers impressive views and a peaceful atmosphere for those seeking relaxation.
