The church is located in the center of the village, on a Wendish circular settlement, today's village green. Beautiful old oak trees (some of which are protected) surround the building and cemetery. The core of the church is a medieval fieldstone structure. Because the space was no longer sufficient for the 21 newly settled Büdner (small farmers), the church was doubled in length after 1840, using old remnants. In 1850, a new, straight choir with a hipped roof was added. The exterior walls are plastered. On the south wall is a pointed arch doorway, and to the west is a wooden bell tower with a tiled gable roof, which was renovated in 1995/96. Of the three bells that existed around the turn of the century, only one, with a diameter of 0.94 m, remains. In earlier times, the church was also used by residents of Bergrade and Zieslübbe. Unfortunately, the structural condition of the church, particularly of some of the ceiling beam supports, is now so poor that it had to be secured due to the acute danger of collapse. This fate is shared by many religious buildings in Mecklenburg. It has therefore been included in the "Churches in Need" program. A support association has been established to preserve the church.
