The fountain dominates the square opposite the town hall.

On the side of the town hall is the carillon, consisting of fifteen bells. These symbolize the 15 districts of Bad Rodach. The carillon symbolizes the unity of the town of Bad Rodach and commemorates the completion of the municipal reform in 1978. This declaration can be found beneath the carillon.

The first documented mention of the town hall dates back to a renovation in 1572. The previous building was destroyed in 1632 during the Thirty Years' War. The two-story, gable-roofed building with a curved gable façade and turret, which was essentially a half-timbered structure, was completed by 1664. The staircase was relocated inside in 1898. The Evangelical Lutheran parish church of St. John in Bad Rodach was first documented as a parish church in 1350. The current nave dates from the mid-18th century.

The farm, with its fortified structure, was built on a medieval trade route from the Main Valley to Erfurt and a former ford over the Röden River. Over the centuries, the fortified structure developed into a moated castle and eventually a palace. Owners from the 14th century onward included the Coburg family, who, in 1451, sold the property to the mint masters of Rosenau. In 1600, the castle and estate were acquired by Duke Johann Casimir for 28,000 guilders and transferred to the princely chamber of Coburg as a domain.

The small but beautiful square on the street invites you to take a break and, together with the fountain, forms a beautiful ensemble.

Built in 1965/1966, the tower was located directly on the inner-German border. Visitors from all over the world used to come to gaze into the GDR beyond its border fortifications and the death strip.
