The 68-hectare Maxsee is crossed by the Löcknitz (also called Mühlenfließ in this area) and drains into the Spree. The lake is almost completely forested, and the banks are surrounded by reeds, marshland and some swampy areas.

A 10km long circular path leads around the Torfstich and Maxsee. In summer, you can use small bathing bays to cool off.

Also called the "summer path". Unfortunately, it's not that easy to get over the slippery tree trunks. You need a good sense of balance. The water was so high that it wasn't possible to get across. Alternatively, you can take the small detour around the pond - your feet will stay dry :)

The Löcknitz - or as they say here, the Mühlenfließ - runs through the lake and gives the entire area its typical Brandenburg face. Not far from the bank is the “Neue Mühle” manor house. Historical and impressive, a little journey through time in the middle of the countryside. And while you're hiking, you can watch the anglers, engrossed, looking for perch, pike or even the odd carp. There's a lot of activity here at the weekend, but during the week you can really enjoy the lake and its tranquility. But it's not just nature that's a highlight here. The variety of fish is not without it. Perch, carp and pike, even pike-perch have already attracted anglers here. Sure, there's a lot of fishing going on at the weekend. But during the week you can choose your spot and fish in peace. One more thing: the islands in the middle of the lake? It's better to leave them alone. They belong to the birds and nature. But with a boat, without a motor of course, you can go for a little spin.

The Maxsee is a polytrophic body of water, i.e. NO clear water lake, visibility depth is therefore low, cloudy; still very idyllic, peaceful and quiet. Ideal especially for hiking!
