Like the Bötzsee, the Fängersee is part of a chain of lakes and wetlands, the so-called Gamengrund. This glacial channel stretches west of Strausberg for many kilometers in a north-south direction. The Fängersee is not as crowded as the Bötzsee and is sometimes quite lonely. You can still swim in the murky water here.

The Bötzsee lido, which already existed in GDR times, was completely renovated in the years 2013-2015 by the municipality of Petershagen/Eggersdorf. As a result of this renovation, the only barrier-free natural lido in the state of Brandenburg was created. Wheelchair users can be lifted into the Bötzsee with the help of a lift and enjoy a swim in the lake.
