You can easily reach the lake via well-developed cycle paths along the Kalksee or via the Löcknitz route. Along the shore, you'll find quiet swimming spots, picnic areas, and viewpoints such as the Schwarzer Stubben and Springeberg, which divide the lake into a northern ("Enger Flaken") and a southern ("Weiter Flaken") half.

Just when you're flying, the train will remind you that you're in Erkner.
