The current building was constructed in 1692 (some sources cite 1696) as a timber-framed church with a three-sided apse and a low, boarded wooden tower with a gable roof at the west end. The roof is covered with beaver tail tiles in a crown pattern.

The von Maltzahn family burial site is located in the cemetery surrounding the neo-Gothic church in Peckatel. Peckatel came into the possession of the Penzlin branch of the family in 1795 through Joseph von Maltzahn (1735–1805). It remained in the family's possession until the 1930s.

A large boulder (natural stone) with the inscription "IN MEMORY OF THE VICTIMS OF THE I AND II WORLD WARS". This stone serves as a simple memorial and was probably erected or modified after 1945 to honor the victims of both wars in a neutral manner – typical for many places during the GDR era, where elements glorifying war were removed.

The forge in Pekatel was built in 1850, but according to oral tradition, it is even older. It was classified as being of moderate condition by Baron von Maltzahn in 1933 and was already reconstructed at that time.

The Old Forge in Peckatel, a district of the municipality of Klein Vielen, is a historic building with a special charm. Presumably built between 1851 and 1871, it is a rectangular fieldstone building with a gable roof and striking brick elements. Originally located directly on the road, the forge remained in operation until 1971. After reunification, the building was restored and relocated approximately five meters from its original location. Today, the Old Forge is privately owned but is maintained by a dedicated association that occasionally organizes events such as exhibitions. Located directly on the B193, opposite the Peckatel church, it is a wonderful place to combine with a visit to the nearby Peckatel Castle or an exploration of the Müritz National Park.

The current neo-Gothic church in Peckatel stands on a hill above the village. It dates from 1863 and replaced the previous building from the 13th century. The carved altar from the 15th century has been preserved from the old church. In the cemetery next to the church there is a family grave of the important Mecklenburg family of Maltzahn.
