"Brændegård" was originally a three-story building that belonged to "Mariegaard". The estate's carriages and horses were housed here, and the coachmen and employees lived here. There was a fire station here around 1900 - perhaps hence the name? The dyer Frederik Hansen started his dyeing business here before setting up a dye factory by the river at Jels Søndergade 10-12 in 1912.

The Orion Planetarium was a planetarium in the city of Jels. The planetarium opened in 1993 but was forced to close at the end of 2016 when one of the owners, Aarhus University, withdrew operating support. Here at the planetarium you can also find the sun of the Jels Nature and Planetary Path.

This open-air stage at Jels Nedersø forms the backdrop and space for the Jels Viking Game (Jels Vikingespil), which has been taking place here since 1976. The Viking game has its origins in Nordic history. To mark its 40th anniversary, the Viking Game in Jels (Jels Vikingespil) erected a rune stone weighing almost two tons.

Stursbøl Plantage is located on a ridge where there are only a few streams to cross. Therefore, the area has likely been used by travelers for thousands of years. The connection to early history becomes particularly clear in the total of 70 Bronze Age burial mounds, which border the various routes of the Ochsenweg.
