As you observe Skærsø Manor by the clear waters, you're looking at a place whose very name, "pure or clear lake," hints at its original setting on a headland within the lake itself, reflecting its deep connection to the surrounding landscape. Over the centuries, many prominent nobles called Skærsø home, notably, Sophia Amalia Benzon and her husband, the naval officer Andreas Rosenpalm, who took command from the famous Peter Wessel Tordenskjold in 1717. However, after his valiant command, his efforts sadly didn't secure his fame in the same way that Tordenskjold did, leaving Tordenskjold's (and not Rosenpalm's) portrait on Danish matchboxes to this day.

The trail takes you through the beautiful nature of Mols Bjerge National Park, which was created during the last ice age. Here you can let your gaze wander over the wide fields.

Hobbit land with lots of imagination. It's advisable to visit here between morning and midday, otherwise the sun is in an unfavorable position - in case anyone wants to take photos.
