From this scenic spot, you can see the Limfjord in all its greatness. Actually, this fjord is huge and extends from Thyborøn Channel on the North Sea to Hals on the Kattegat. It is approximately 180 kilometres long.

Discovered on a great tour

Ferring Sø is an inland lake that lies directly on the North Sea. It couldn't be more beautiful. A beautiful, rugged part of Denmark's west coast. The lake is only separated from the sea by a narrow sand dike. A complete circuit is about 9km.

Great route, close to the coast, great views. It's best to go with the wind. :-)

In the late 1940s, former fisherman Alfred Pedersen and his family moved to Thyborøn, where they owned a plot of land on Klitvej. His wife didn't want to move, so Alfred promised her a house that no one else had—one that people would come from far and wide to see. Poula and Alfred moved in in 1949, and Alfred began decorating the house. It would take him 25 years to finish. The "shell house" is decorated with a large collection of seashells, whelks, and cockles, in all sizes and colors. Local fishermen had caught them in their nets, or they were collected by Alfred and his children on the beach.

For 25 DKK (adults) you can visit the Sneglehuset Museum. It's quite small and consists of two rooms: a room where you can watch a film about the making of Sneglehuset (in Danish or German) and an exhibition room with lots of shell details, which is lovingly designed.

Really a nice route along the North Sea coast. On the way you can make a lot of meters with the gravel.
