Beautiful colors in nature and along a stream

From Rollesbroich to Simonskall – around 19 kilometers of pure nature. The route led through diverse landscapes: rolling meadows, tranquil forests, and frequent glimpses of the valley below. The tranquility along the way, accompanied only by the sound of the trees and the water, was particularly beautiful. After a few kilometers of uphill and downhill, it became clear why the Eifel is a paradise for hikers – nature here still seems truly pristine and invites you to simply take a deep breath.

Robert Cahow volunteered to rescue wounded comrades, stepped on a mine, and died. On December 13, 1944, he lost his life in the Hürtgen Forest. His comrades heard the explosion but were unable to come to his aid due to heavy enemy fire. Cahow was buried later, most likely by German soldiers; his remains were not discovered until 2000.
