The Kaaipoort on the east side of the Brielse fortress was built in 1709 and last restored in the period 1972-75. Considerably more of this gate had been preserved than of the Langepoort on the NW side. In particular, the front on the field side with two pilasters and a bluestone entablature and attic was still almost completely present. During the restoration, two bluestone balls were placed on the attic. The brickwork of the gate arch is striking, where the arch back does not run parallel to the round inner vault, but steeply upwards. The Kaaipoort has retained its guardhouse, which is now a residential building.

Since the Blankenburg connection, Landtong Rozenburg is easily accessible. On both sides you have a view of (sailing or moored) ships.

There was a liberation party in Brielle all weekend. Then you would expect that activities would be organized in the Freedom Forest. However, there was absolutely nothing to do except read poems of course

The Sleipnir is a semi-submersible crane vessel of Heerema Marine Contractors that was built in 2019 by Sembcorp in Singapore. The name is derived from the eight-legged horse Sleipnir from Norse mythology. GVA's design consists of two parallel pontoons, each with four columns containing the working deck.
