The Vrijheidsbos Brielle contains approximately 530 trees that have been planted to commemorate or commemorate something. Every tree in the Vrijheidsbos has its own story. To make these stories more widely accessible, the board has had a website developed.
Walking through the forest, or at home behind the laptop, you can view the histories behind the tree through their owners. Names and dates on signs near planted trees also offer just as many places for your own thoughts and memories. Hundreds of people, young and old, have made the freedom forest what it is today with their own motives to plant; a monument in the landscape. The proceeds of the sold trees were transferred to the restoration fund of the Brielse Synagoge foundation. Panels of brass have been placed between the trees, on which poems have been placed that relate to freedom or the lack of it. Near the pool there is a gazebo where you can take shelter in case of rain or where you can contemplate the origin of the forest for a moment.
