Start in the southeastern district of Neumühle and enjoy the peaceful lakeside walk, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The shoreline offers varied, mostly wooded and sometimes steep sections, especially on the northern shore in the Friedrichsthal Forest.

When the subtle lighting of the bridge structure reflects in the water of Ostdorfer Lake at dusk, its elegant curve comes into its own. In 2021, the new, impressive cycle bridge between the two peninsulas of Krösnitz and Dwang was officially inaugurated. The steel structure has a total length of 92 meters. The bridge completes the 1.2-kilometer-long new cycle path from southern Dwang to the Krösnitz peninsula. "The nature-oriented tourist cycle route runs on municipal land directly along the shores of Lake Ostorf and Lake Faulen. With unobstructed views of both lakes and the city skyline, it offers a strong attraction for cyclists and pedestrians. A very beautiful single trail. You'll have to endure a few nettles in the summer, but you'll be rewarded with some beautiful scenery. It's also worth stopping to admire the ancient beech trees.

nice little shop for small meals

As is typical on canals, you drive straight ahead without much variation. The path was bumpy in places, then rolled along as if by itself – totally different sections. The bushes weren't trimmed at the time and in some places they were so in the way that you could only drive one behind the other. There are plenty of benches, and on the day we visited (a Saturday in July), it was extremely deserted. This section wasn't the big highlight for me, but maybe a small one 😁

The asphalt is a listed monument. Traces of tank tracks can still be seen on the road. IT'S IMPORTANT NOT TO FORGET!!!!!

Especially in this day and age, we should always remember that human dignity is inviolable. I, born in '76, don't blame myself for such atrocities, but we are to blame for the fact that we are apparently unable to adequately defend our constitution against undemocrats!
