Those who walk along the path near the shore will enjoy many beautiful views of the lake, but few good opportunities for swimming. Here is one of the best. A large meadow, benches, and two excellent entrances into the water. Just above the embankment, you can see a ruined building of the former Lychen pulmonary sanatorium rising above the trees. But the fully fenced-in grounds are no longer a lost place. Many of the buildings have been stylishly renovated, creating a first-class park-like property. There are exclusive apartments and even vacation apartments available for short-term rentals!

The entire route along the eastern shore is very beautiful, always with a view of the water and with many bathing spots

The lake is fed by a short stream from the Moderfitzsee and the Woblitz and drains into the Stolpsee via the Mühlenfließ / lock canal Himmelpfort.

Right next to the bridge you will find a small rest area.

This bridge has a certain spooky factor. It's quite attractive, but walking over the rotten planks is a bit spooky. It's best to hold on to the railing for safety. The metal construction gives us a false sense of security, as it stands on corroded wooden posts.

What is probably meant here is the Haussee.

This bike tour was beautiful. We often rode very close to the water. The paths were almost always good to very good (exceptions: a) the stretch from Fürstenberg along the former Ravensbrück concentration camp and b) parts of the stretch from Kleinmutz to Kraatz with lots of potholes). The landscape is very varied and simply wonderfully relaxing.

In 1892, the Carwitz Mill replaced the Schmidt Mill, which had previously burned down. The imposing building lost its wings in 1937. Since then, it was initially powered by a steam engine, which was eventually replaced by an electric motor. In use as a mixed feed mill since 1960, the granaries built in 1972 were demolished as part of the renovation work. One of the most striking restorations of the mill, which was closed in 1990, is the new cap construction.
