Beautiful coast with fairytale cliffs

I've been going there for many years. It's not really a beach, but a cove of fine pebbles, and swimming requires caution; there are a lot of rocks at the entrance. The surrounding area allows for several trails.

Ours is a traditional Plentzia bar, located opposite the passageway. On sunny days, it's a real pleasure to have an aperitif on the terrace overlooking the estuary.

Nice beach

The Hermitage of San Andrés in Sopela, is a small treasure of great historical value and fundamentally has a superb aesthetic built between the 12th and 13th centuries, which is a great experience for this coastal Basque town. The Hermitage of San Andrés, is an obvious example of a Gothic monument, which is located on a promontory next to the path to the natural cove of Meñakotz. The arched access dates back to the 16th century, although the stupendous Baroque belfry topped by a stone cross comes from the remodeling carried out in the 18th century, a time when its precious vault was also made.

This is a great place to see the Bay of Plentzia and to see the cliffs on the other side of the bay. It feels like the end of the road, but just follow the coast, there is much more to see. Be careful and don't get too close to the edge. It is between 30 and 40 meters to the rocky shore below.

This viewpoint offers you a great view of one of the most popular beaches for surfing in the Cantabrian Sea. It has a great internationally known right wave. For professionals only. The beach is covered in small pebbles and is a great place to find a quiet, secluded place where you can relax and unwind.
