Definitely a highlight, but unfortunately, the castle was covered in scaffolding when I visited. The castle dates back to the Middle Ages but was later almost completely rebuilt.

A short detour for some great views

This church is located presiding over a beautiful square. Of Romanesque origin, few examples of the originality of this style remain, such as the opening in the headboard and the doorway. With the passing of the centuries and the different renovation works, its current appearance is Renaissance and Baroque.

From this modest summit of just 127 meters above sea level we will have views over the entire Plentzia bay, its rocky outcrops and its beach.

Located at the end of this cape in the Bay of Plentzia you will find this defensive area that is part of the Bilbao Iron Belt. They were built with slave hands during the postwar period.
