A splendid little village overlooking Lake Ceresio, with memorable colours at sunset.

The tour takes you to Lugano, Melide by train, and Porto Ceresio by boat. Then, a short stroll through Porto Ceresio with a coffee for €1.50. Continue by bus and boat to Campione. Both towns have beautiful lakeside promenades to linger on. More of a stroll than a hike :-) The lido in Campione is very nice; admission is €7, and meals and drinks are available. Be prepared to pay 0.50 for a hot shower. From Campione, return via Melide and Lugano.

In front of the newly built Swiss Diamond Boutique Hotel "La Romantica," there's a beautiful "Magic Fountain" / "Fontana Magica," featuring a display of fountains accompanied by music and lights. We happened to be there when it started and couldn't tear ourselves away for minutes because it was simply beautiful!

The promenade that connects Melide to Bissone is the result of numerous construction stages, the first interventions date back to the mid-seventies. The two localities gradually continued the work of rapprochement until reaching the connection in the mid-eighties. The avenues that define the walk are delimited by granite borders and paved with red porphyry gravel. On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the construction of the dam bridge, information panels were placed along the route with historical notes on the construction of the bridge.

Vico Morcote is located over 400 meters above sea level, halfway up the slope, on a protrusion on the southern slope of Monte Arbostora, downstream from Alpe Vicania, with a magnificent view of Lake Ceresio and Monte S. Giorgio; in particular, from the eastern side, it enjoys a privileged view of Brusino Arsizio, located on the opposite bank. It is connected to the shore by a road that overcomes the difference in altitude with wide bends and continues towards Carona.
