Forchheim Castle was built in 1558 for Christoph von Berbisdorf. The city of Chemnitz acquired the castle in 1912, as it did with other manors and properties in the area. There is a slightly steeper gradient of up to 10% but relatively short and then a 10 km long descent to just before Zschopau on a very good road surface. The rest from Zschopau to Chemnitz is easy and the Hornauer Straße back to Einsiedel is ideal for "rolling out". You can do the tour every day.
