After the big climb to get to this village, we were very happy to find a public drinking fountain to fill up our water bottles!

This pretty, white church stands in the small hamlet of Acletta. It's worth a visit, as the altarpiece is very impressive. It was painted by the artist Carlo Francesco Nuvolone; brochures in the church provide further information.

A very clean town and well-designed areas.

This monastery has something to offer, I even attended the service which was in German.

The two German and late Romanesque components of the place name suggest that this is a monastery at the crossroads. And indeed, even after 1,400 years, Disentis Monastery remains an important architectural highlight in Graubünden. The town remains popular for hiking today, as with a total length of around 180 kilometers, there are a variety of hiking trails around the town for all tastes, from leisurely hikes to challenging ones.

In the Surselva region, the Vorderrhein is called Rein Anteriur. It's beautiful under both names. At this bend, you'll have a wonderful view of the merrily babbling river, which is worth a short break.

On November 16, 2024, the longest suspension bridge in Graubünden was ceremoniously blessed and officially opened. A lot of people came together, and in the best weather, many locals and tourists wanted to walk on the longest suspension bridge (almost 270m) for the first time. A great celebration for the whole village! And a new tourist magnet.
