The first location of the Luther Garden is in the ramparts on the Andreasbreite. Since November 1, 2009, 292 trees have been planted here. The center of the garden, laid out as an ellipse, is a square in the form of the Luther rose with the heavenly cross. The artistic installation shows a triple cross made of different materials, which underlines our connection to the earth and at the same time symbolizes the striving for the heavenly dimension of existence. Seven symbolic paths lead out from the center into the world. Rows of linden trees on the main path and different tree species from 5 continents underline the international character of the project. Between the avenues orchards have emerged, which have been planted with local fruit varieties.
The tree species and sponsors are easily identified by signs in front of the trees.
