The station of Wittenberg is one of the most modern stations in Germany. The place offers a good start & finish point for hikes to the city center, to the Elbe or to the Wittenberg surroundings.

The station was built on the site of the old station and completed until the Reformation celebration. He is very modern, bright and friendly. There are shops and a ticket office.

With over 3700 travelers and visitors per day, Lutherstadt Wittenberg Hauptbahnhof is the most important train station in the eastern part of the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt. 155 passenger trains stop on the six platform tracks every day.
In 2017 the station was voted Station of the Year by the Pro-Rail Alliance.
The train station is about one kilometer east of the historic city center of Lutherstadt Wittenberg. The Berlin-Halle railway, which runs in a north-east-southwest direction, and the Roßlau-Falkenberg/Elster railway in an east-west direction cross in the station.
The station building has a Deutsche Bahn travel center, lockers, toilets, free WiFi, a station bookstore with travel needs and a lottery ticket office, and a Steinecke bakery.
