Sizandro Ecotrail: Santa Cruz Beach is close to the mouth of the Sizandro River, where the Sizandro Ecotrail begins, a popular route for walking and cycling towards Torres Vedras. The Chapel of Our Lady of Pena in Torres Vedras is located at the top of Monte da Pena, near the town of Barro, and is a small chapel next to a staircase containing a statue of Our Lady. The same area is known for the Tholos of Barro, a National Monument that is the largest burial chamber of its kind in the Iberian Peninsula.

Excellent viewpoint, especially at sunset

A beautiful view back to Santa Cruz and the rocky outcrop. A small path leads south from the highest point toward Praia Azul.

The poet Antero de Quental often hiked here to gaze out at the sea. Indeed, from here you have a magnificent view of the entire country. In strong winds, you can see paragliders practically suspended in mid-air, as the updrafts are so powerful.

A wonderful, long beach, very well-developed for tourism. The rock with the hole is naturally a photo magnet. At low tide, you can enjoy walking around and on the rock.
