The path winds through a beautiful beech forest up to the Buchberg (591 meters). Keep your eyes open for the rock towers of the Teufelskeller, which are hidden in the forest just before the summit.

The town of Berching calls itself a "jewel of the Middle Ages" and is known for its very well-preserved old town walls with four town gates and thirteen towers. The Chinese Tower, the Powder Tower and the Neumarkt Gate Tower in the oldest part, the so-called suburb, are worth seeing. Source: Wikipedia A complete city wall, colorful houses and mighty warehouses are evidence of the heyday in the Middle Ages. A modern museum is dedicated to the city's most famous son, the composer Christoph Willibald Gluck.
