Inaugurated in 1961, this modern, hexagonal building is an eye-catcher on Ansbacher Strasse. Light falls through the trapezoidal windows below the roof into the unadorned interior, where a large crucifix hovers above the altar. The sheet metal-framed pointed roof on the square church tower shines brightly in the sun from afar.

The dining rooms are rustic and tempt you to sit and enjoy beer or wine and enjoy the atmosphere of waxed old floorboards and the touch of “back in the day”... Or a Franconian inn from 1907, in the third generation of the family, with adjoining rooms, guest rooms, a "Stodl" for all larger celebratory occasions and a beer garden with old trees with cosiness and tradition, for old and young, that's what makes it special.

From Wikipedia: The castle, which was probably built from the stones of the demolished Burg Bürglein, was not protected by ramparts and walls, but only by a wide moat, over which a "Schlagprukken" (drawbridge) led. The castle, idyllically situated with comfortable rooms, soon became the favorite residence of the Heilsbronn abbots. Among others, the Margrave Albrecht Achilles and his wife and their entourage stayed here in 1460 and 1461. The castle courtyard could be reached through a 28 meter high gate tower with a chapel, bell tower and a gatekeeper's apartment. The castle had a two-storey living room with an entrance hall below, a kitchen with a dining room on the first floor, a living room, bedroom and summerhouse on the second floor. The provost's "waiter" stayed under the roof. Another long, four-door building housed the bailiff who guarded the prisoners in the “Fuchsloch” (prison) for which he received an admission fee and a parole fee.

Ludwig the Bavarian gave permission for this fortification in 1337. For centuries the castle was the seat of the provost's office of the Cistercian monastery in Heilsbronn. It served as a country house for the abbot of the monastery. The castle fell into disrepair in the 19th century. Part of the walled-up moat and a cellar vault have been preserved.
