Beautiful castle chapel located a little off the beaten track. The former castle chapel of St. George in Leonrod, a part of the market town of Dietenhofen in the Middle Franconian district of Ansbach in Bavaria, was built around 1327. The chapel dedicated to St. George is a protected monument. The chapel belonged to the former Leonrod moated castle and was part of the outer bailey.

If you like ruins or Lost Place, this is the place for you. Grown on the outskirts. There is currently an entry ban due to dilapidation.

I found the castle ruins in Leonrod as one of the most tranquil and meditative places in my Franconian homeland.
