Border Stone 147 is the southernmost point in Germany and also the border triangle between Bavaria, Tyrol, and Vorarlberg at 1,883 m. The border stone is now well signposted, which wasn't the case on my first trip here over 10 years ago. Up here, you can take a wonderful break and enjoy magnificent views.

The climb up the Hohe Licht is recommended. You must be free from vertigo. Some parts are very exposed. Once you reach the top you have an incredible view of the Alps

Alpine experience is required here and you should not be afraid of heights. It is very exposed in places without any safety ropes.

We came from the direction of the Rappensee Hut and wanted to go to the Mindelheimer Hut. When you come around the last bend on the way to the ravine, you feel like you are in another world. The path goes deep down into the ravine and the slopes go far up. You suddenly feel very small. The path is rocky and scree-covered, but luckily it is secured with wire ropes in some places. Crossing it was a special experience.
