Although the line is closed, construction trains operated by the Brexbachtalbahn e.V. (https://diebrex.de) are still running, even on weekdays. Along the shady Brexbach stream, there are beautiful paths, bridges from an old railway line, and two accessible caves in the hillside. Don't forget your flashlight!

The Brexbachtalbahn ran between Engers and Hillscheid from 1884 to 2001, until operations were completely discontinued. In 2007, the Brexbachtalbahn e.V. association set about reactivating the railway line, and today there are once again special trips and trips for transporting wood on the route.
