The Ehlinger Ley, also known as the Ehlinger Köpfchen, lies above the village of Ehlingen and offers a sweeping view over the lower Ahr Valley, including the villages of Lohrsdorf, Ehlingen, and Heimersheim, all the way to the striking volcanic peak of the Landskrone. The 7th stage of the AhrSteig Trail leads directly over this viewpoint, which is surrounded by picturesque vineyards. Wonderful views from the mountain. The Ahr River and the valley seem peaceful again. Reconstruction will take many years.

One of the most beautiful viewpoints, the forests, the village, the valley, the river and of course the ruins, beautiful.

The village is famous for its wine growing, almost all inhabitants are working in wine. Mayschoss is a tourist resort recognized by the German government.

It gets narrower for a short stretch towards the middle, so you may have to push as it goes down quite steeply. The ground is a bit loose but overall it's an exciting trail.
