On the northwestern slope of the Rusteberg there are several rock formations made of red sandstone. This can be reached if you keep to the right at the edge of the forest from Rustenfelde at the sports field and children's playground and hike through the Loh.

On the ascent to the Rusteberg, a mighty small-leaved lime tree immediately catches your eye. This was planted about 320 years ago. Due to the special location, it has a short trunk but a powerful crown.

3月 23, 2022, Rustenberg Castle Ruins
The first castle on the Rusteberg was first mentioned in a document in 1123, but was already destroyed again in 1160. Subsequent buildings and extensions by the archbishops of Mainz were carried out from the 12th century. In 1749 and 1750 the administration built Rusteberg Castle. In connection with this, the demolition of the previously intact castle began in order to use the stones as building material.
