At Lindewerra, the Werra River meanders peacefully through the valley, surrounded by wooded hills and picturesque half-timbered villages. The picturesque village of Lindewerra lies directly on the Werra River and is known for its beautiful half-timbered houses. Until 1989, it was literally on the edge of the world: the Inner German border ran right through the village.
