Rodengo Abbey

An architectural jewel with important artistic masterpieces inside, the Abbey of Rodengo Saiano, still inhabited by Olivetan monks, presents itself with its Renaissance church with a simple façade and an elegant 15th-century porch. Inside, the altarpiece by Moretto with St. Peter and St. Paul and the large painting of the Wedding at Cana by Grazio Cossali (1608). Among the wonders are the three cloisters – from the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries, called the “Cisterna” – and the frescoes by Romanino in the refectory of the guesthouse. Finally, don’t miss the refectory, the monumental gallery 106 metres long that gives access to around thirty monastic cells and the small museum of sacred objects.

Beautiful landscape, easy and panoramic routes.

Benedictine abbey in Franciacorta with its 3 cloisters from the 1400s, 1500s and 1600s respectively and artistic masterpieces inside, it is worth a visit. Inhabited by Olivetan monks, it is also a pilgrimage destination along "the sisters' path", a path of approximately 130 km which connects Brescia and Bergamo passing over 30 municipalities, including Rodengo Saiano and its beautiful Abbey.
