An excellent restaurant for enjoying typical Brescian mountain cuisine: homemade gnocchi with porcini mushrooms, pasta with Bagoss cheese, venison stew, casoncelli alla bresciana, and much more. E-bike rentals are available at the restaurant's adjacent facility (E-bike Dosso Alto). You can also charge your e-bike during lunch or coffee. (I recharged my legs instead.)

The condition of the road surface is quite challenging. A mix of severe pottholes and gravel requires your entire attention when descending! You better don't take unnecesary risks and reduce your speed accordingly... If you got the choice, you better use this side of the climb for ascending. The route - except for the last kilometers - runs predominantly through a forest which offers some pleasant shadow on summer rides. Arriving at the top, you can choose from 3 different directions: towards Passo Crocedomini, down Val Trompia, or traversing to Passo della Spina.

Good food, friendly service and above all finally a comfortable bed.🤣🤣

The Sette Crocette pass, an ancient connection road between the upper Val Trompia and the Val Grigna (lateral tributary of the Camonica Valley), is characterized by the presence of a dry stone wall with seven iron crosses (originally made of wood, then replaced with the current ones) and a stone with the date of 1688 carved. The Colle San Zeno can be traveled from the west starting in Pisogne, as well as from the east starting in Pezzaze. Most of the west driveway is beautifully paved. The slope that climbs to the Maniva from the village of Bagolino is certainly the most challenging with its almost 10km and an average gradient close to 10%. The most difficult part is also in the last 2km when you reach even 15% of the slope. The view of the surrounding mountains repays all the efforts.
